I saw that John Zorn's New Masada Quartet was doing a string of shows at the Village Vanguard in New York, so I made arrangements for a whirlwind trip to catch the show, visit my bazillionaire cousin Ben, and visit the graves of Cardozo, Livingston, and Blatchford.
The weather was not my friend. Drizzle. The Beth Olom Cemetery is unmarked and the entrance is marred with graffiti. It is also surrounded by several other larger cemeteries, two of which I entered before turning around again. Beth Olom is in some disrepair - many stones fallen over etc. ALSO good lord, what is with burying justices at the highest points around?? Steep arduous climb to get there from the train station, plus an additional climb once I got to the cemetery entrance.
Finally arrived and grabbed some nice shots - sad though that the weather was so crappy.
New Masada Quartet was AMAZING by the way.
